 William Paul Troost-Ekong is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Super League Greece club PAOK and captains the Nigeria national team. Born in the Netherlands into a mixed Dutch and Nigerian family, Troost-Ekong was eligible for both the Netherlands and Nigeria at international level.  William Troost-Ekong was born in Harlem, Netherlands, to a Dutch mother and a Nigerian father from Etinan, Akwa Ibom State. Full name: William Paul Troost-Ekong Date of birth: 1st September 1993 (age 30) Place of birth: Haarlem, Netherlands Height: 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in) Due to his decision to pursue a career in football instead of continuing his education, his parents separated  Only his mother supported his dreams and signed his documents to gain admission into the Tottenham Football Academy in England.  It wasn't until 2018 that Ekong reconciled with his father and today he's taking Nigeria to AFCON Final..
